Jameen has been a tattoo apprentice for almost 1 year.  After being laid off from a job in marketing in 2018 Jameen decided to focus on art and leave the office life behind. Before becoming an apprentice, Jameen did commissioned portrait painting and landscape painting as well as teaching painting at Brushstrokes Paint Party. He’s exhibited his work at the UCONN Health Art Gallery and RAW Art Boston and Connecticut. He is currently showing at the Connecticut Art Gallery in Thomaston, CT. While showing his art in a local craft fair in Naugatuck, he met Jeanne Palagonia, owner of Blue Owl Tattoo, which led to his apprenticeship. Jameen attended Central Connecticut State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art and Illustration. As an artist, Jameen’s goal is to combine fine art and tattooing. As someone less versed in the art of tattooing and more in fine art, his recent focus has been on the art of tattooing and learning more traditional work so that he can grow as an artist and take the next step towards his final goal.
